The design has its own spirit, measuring 36cm in diameter and is a screening of blue pate de verre through the same screen that produced Their Majesties’ Coronation gift.
This is Peter Crisp’s second major commission for King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the first being tableware for their wedding on 9 April 2005. The piece is a 36 centimetre glass plate made from highly vitrified glass, making it look like rock crystal. Fused with pure gold, platinum, sapphires, rubies and garnets. The original artwork is on exhibition at the Crisp Galleries, Hume Highway, Bowning, every weekend from 10am to 4pm until February 2025.
