Synopsis

Andrea "Andy" Sachs is a recent journalism graduate who lands a coveted job as the junior assistant to Miranda Priestly, the powerful and intimidating editor-in-chief of Runway, a leading fashion magazine. Although Andy has little interest in fashion, she sees the position as a stepping stone to her dream career.

As Andy struggles to meet Miranda's impossible demands, she gradually adapts to the fast-paced world of high fashion and transforms her appearance with the help of her colleagues. Her growing success at work, however, begins to take a toll on her relationships and personal values.

When Andy accompanies Miranda to Paris Fashion Week, she witnesses the ruthless sacrifices often required for success. Forced to choose between ambition and staying true to herself, Andy must decide what kind of future she really wants.
