Come along to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Friends of the Liberty Theatre and Cultural Centre Inc. (the Association) and learn more about our plans to purchase the theatre for community ownership, followed by the restoration of this much loved art deco building.

Members will be able to attend, vote, ask questions and participate in the meeting in person.

The Friends of Liberty Theatre are always interested in speaking with others who are passionate about the future of the Liberty Theatre.

Whether you enjoy cinema, theatre or music, have a desire to help preserve our beautiful heritage building or recall special memories of attending past events at the Liberty, we would love to hear from you.

We will present the reports from our executive officers, as well as financial reporting requirements, in line with our obligations under local laws.

3. Special Resolutions – Amendments to constitution
   Note: a resolution to amend the constitution must be passed by a majority of two-thirds of Members present and voting in favour of the amendment.

   1. "Repeal subsection 14(2), substitute:
      The total number of committee members is to be 9."

   2. “Repeal subsection 20(5), substitute:
      5 members of the committee constitute a quorum for the transaction of the business of a meeting of the committee and must include at least 2 office-bearers of the association and 3 ordinary committee members."

Dear Members,

The Committee is putting forward two special resolutions to this year’s AGM asking members to vote to amend our constitution.

These amendments aim to increase the size of our volunteer Committee and ensure the independence of our
